Education

This site is focused on providing information for expats looking for information about living in, or buying real estate in, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The information may also be useful to others looking at education resources in Johor Bahru.

Many expats have children and finding the proper school and education resources is an important part of the decision on where to live. Two options in JB, there are many others also:

  • Sri Ara Schools, private, co-educational international school for students aged from 5 to 17 years, 23 Jalan Straits View, Johor Bahru, 80200. Located downtown.
  • Marlborough College Malaysia, co-educational, independent boarding and day school for pupils aged between 11 and 18. Also be a day preparatory school for pupils aged between 5 and 11. In the 2nd link area, Nusajaya.
  • Austin Heights Schools, ages 5 to 18 (I think). Curriculum follows the Cambridge international standards. No.2, Jalan Austin Heights 3/1, Taman Mount Austin, 81100 Johor Bahru. About 30 minutes to the causeway (due North of the causeway to Singapore, in the general vicinity of Molek Pine condos).
  • Fairview International School, “Years 1 to 11 for Primary, Middle and High School. Fairview International School is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years and Middle Years Programme. Students culminate their educational pursuit at the end of Year 11 with the Cambridge IGCSE and O’level examinations.” Student count stands at about 250 total. Komplex Mutiara Johor Land, Jalan Bukit Mutiara, Bandar Dato’ Onn, 88100, Johor Bahru. About 25 minutes north of the causeway to Singapore (in the general vicinity of Molek Pine condos).

In addition the area is starting to have a focus on higher education, I will add some information on that at some point.
